QLOCK
Using our nanoscale quantum EPUF and QRNG devices, Quantum Base has invented a next generation in electronic security – our Quantum Lock, or QLOCK, unbreakable quantum security.
Being able to control devices electronically and securely is an important capability for a wide range of devices, from enabling functional features on chip through to controlling signalling channels, and communications. With the development of QLOCK, by exploiting quantum mechanical confinement and the corresponding properties of unique atomic level randomness, Quantum Base provides unbreakable nanoscale security for all electronic locking functions.
Built at the nanoscale (1000th of a human hair), with low power requirements, low bandwidth, and low cost, QLOCK embeds within existing chips or as a discrete system an array of elements displaying these quantum mechanical features. Each element has its own unique unclonable feature.
Within Quantum Lock, instead of a physical key, a quantum level electronic key is provided. This key generates the unique features within the quantum elements which are detected in the corresponding lock and provides the unlock mechanism.
Importantly the electronic key cannot be predetermined before construction of the device and can also be reset, when needed, to provide a new key for the same physical system.
Instead of physically unlocking a door, Quantum lock can be used to control any electronic circuit. And just like physical keys it is possible to provide master and slave key sets for devices. This approach can be applied to a range of applications from power control to channel enablement.
A key application of Quantum Lock is the ability to control power pathways within devices. This provides capability to switch on and off features or capabilities within chips. This approach provides a quantum level fundamentally physically secure mechanism.
The Quantum Locks secure control capacity can also be utilised on communications and data channels. It can be used to enhance the security of items such as hard drives. Without the right key for the Quantum Lock the hard drive is unable to transfer data.
